It is true that some of our 'stuff' cannot be sold but we take it wherever we go. Allowing the things that happen to us to teach us happens here, and it happens there and it happens everywhere! Hello and glad you're all feeling better from your Toastmasters D96 Division D Tribe! Thank you for sharing!

I admit - I was jealous at first. It is really interesting to read what you have really been going through. It sounds as though you are planning on staying there, if you are talking about buying. I have a friend that has been living in Veracruz for about 10 years now (came from the States) & has her residency. If you think she could be of any help to you, I will contact her and see if she would be interested. She basically taught herself the language and has helped instruct some of the local young Mexican kids with their lessons. Her husband was with her up until a couple of years ago when he passed away. She is about my age, but a former nurse, very intelligent and is constantly adopting stray dogs.

Hi Emily :-) First, hugs for all of you. I think about you often and wonder how you're doing. Thank you for including me in your email. I'm honored. For what it's worth, as you know my sister and I were raised by parents who immigrated from another country. It wasn't always easy for them. But they were not alone. They had each other and together trusted God. Trust in our Heavenly Father does not mean you've taken the easy road. It does mean, as our Mama would say, 'you are not alone.' Meaning = 'God is with you and I'm praying for you.' Sometimes the right decision can bring on many tears, and God counts them all. I'll be honest :-) I miss seeing you and watching the girls grow up but am very thankful for the time we did have together :-) No matter where you are He's got you in His hands. I pray you may be surrounded and upheld by a peace that passes understanding. Until next time :-)

This is written in such a warm and open and welcoming way, Emily! Welcoming in the sense that you have invited us as readers to be vulnerable and transparent with you, with others, with God. I fear I have been one of those who may have tried to ‘see the silver lining’ of circumstances around your move. Truth be told, I have grieved all that has happened that brought those circumstances about, and I truly miss your girls and those chats you and I could occasionally find time for. And… that is ok, we can lament, we can recognize loss, and show grace even if we don’t know someone else’s struggles, in fact I believe God encourages it. At imes we may be too eager to find that silver lining, or cheer up, or solve the problem and move on - but sometimes isn’t it better to come alongside and share a burden, acknowledge that in this world there is trouble that may only end when God takes us home? This world’s reality is often sad and hard and at times a bit much to carry - quietly, behind the smiling face and ‘postable updates’. God is faithful and I know we can always encourage each other with that fact but there is a deep level of healing when we “mourn with those who mourn” while resting in the knowledge that we are in His hands amidst the sadness. Thank you so much for reminding us that being Christ-like involves; coming alongside, delving deeper and sometimes pausing until others feel ready to journey on.

Thanks for sharing your heart, Emily. I’m often reminded of Abraham, and later, Ruth, who left their country and went to a place God brought them to. All of us are on a pilgrimage, passing through, toward being in the presence of God.

“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭84:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬
