Anxiety can feel like a wet and heavy blanket just sitting on top of you. I went through something similar & was also able to pull myself out of the thick of it! It still lingers & there is always more work to be done, prayers to be said, meditations to be sat through etc.

Proud of how far you’ve come! Taking back your life is such an incredible feeling. Be proud of yourself! 🩷

Thank you for sharing your painful journey. Remembering to count our blessings is key to finding peace.

Like many people I'm trying to find a way to navigate life's ups & downs. Without God I would be lost.

I completely agree--about counting our blessings & about being lost without God!

As always Emily, I look forward to reading your thoughts and about your experience. As I read, I'm usually nodding along and gently holding onto tears of both joy and sorrow. As many who've left home, another world is opened up to explore while at the same time we're remembering our old life, and left with the contrast. Navigating through seems to take time and when I read of your stories, I reflect on my own steps. Sometimes this is with anxiety as you described, and sometimes it's with a sense of pride and joy. Kids and family help in your case, and puppies and cats in mine. Amongst many other things to be grateful for.

I sometimes think that, what if "things" get worse, and I look back on this time now and realize that I didn't appreciate it enough...

so, I do. I slow down and take the time to lie and gaze at the sky feeling the warmth of the sun, among many daily pleasures.

Regarding your reaching out for support and trying the Pharma model... Sometimes we do need something to take us thru that hard part. I've done that too & am grateful that there was something to help me see beauty when I couldn't feel it on my own. I think what you said is the key; being aware and moderating carefully. I'm glad you shared this episode with us, your readers. I think it's really important to know that each of us feel heavy at times and have difficult times that we manage to forage through.

Much appreciated!

Heidi
